Something different was The Hardy Boys, rendered in a dozen fifteen minute episodes as a weekly serial on the Mickey Mouse Club. The Mystery of the Applegate Treasure had Tim Considine and Tommy Kirk entangled with all manner of crooks and crazy townsfolk, hunting the lost pirate gold while mad old Applegate fought them off with his flailing cutlass. It was actually rather better produced than most other TV dramas of the time.
