 Then a diagram of the interior of an ant’s nest like the one they ventured down to hunt the giant ants in Them!
    Considered by many to be the best of 1950s monster movies, Them! is certain a cut above most. The giant ants behave in every way as real ants do, and for a change the acting is better than the special effects. Edmund Gwynne is especially good, and there’s a great cameo from Fess Parker as well. Oddly, the only bit of the movie in colour are the words of the title, apparently because they thought red was scarier.
